Clinical Trials Bootcamp

The Clinical Trials Bootcamp is targeted at clinically-focused faculty and post-docs who are interested in participating as an MUSC PI in a multi-site study or who need additional support or a refresher on elements of conducting clinical trial.

The bootcamp will provide a high-level overview of site PI responsibilities for multi-center studies. Topics that will be explored during the event include:

  • Introduction to Clinical Trials
  • Research Opportunities & Workflow Development
  • Prospective Reimbursement Analysis
  • Budget Preparation
  • Contract Review & Execution
  • IRB Application
  • Recruitment & Community Engagement
  • Adverse Events & Protocol Deviations
  • Principal Investigator Responsibilities & Oversight
  • Coordinator & Staff Oversight

What will not be covered:

  • Design of investigator-initiated research or grant proposals
  • Specific management tactics for clinical trials
  • Training on research administration office systems and research tools (eIRB, Cayuse, SPARCRequest, TriNetX)
