REDCap Services

Overview

REDCap is available to anyone at MUSC with a NetID and is designed to be a self-service tool. Getting started is easy. Once logged in and registered at REDCap, select the “Create New Project” tab, answer the few questions and select "Create Project" at the bottom of the form. You'll be taken to the Project Set Up page where you can enable features such as auto-numbering, a longitudinal format and/or survey functionality. Click on Online Designer to access your first data collection instrument (form). Here you'll be able to add forms and/or enable forms as individual surveys. Click on a form title to enter the specific data collection fields.

There is a wealth of information to help you build your project, as well as to enter and manage your data. Just click on "Training Resources” for video tutorials or “Help & FAQ” for a reference guide organized by topic. If you decide you'd like to have more hands on help or still have questions after exploring the site on your own, you can request a one-on-one consultation through our SPARC Request system. Once on the SPARC site select SCTR Services on the left side of the screen, and then “REDCap”. Under REDCap Services, you will find options for both research and non-research consultation. Also available is dedicated development or custom programming on a fee-for-service basis.
