Beginning an independent research career for new faculty is an exhilarating time filled with grant writing, budgeting startup funds, seeking IRB or IACUC approvals, ordering supplies, preparing lectures, and recruiting research staff, students, and postdoctoral fellows, among many other tasks!

The Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) is pleased to announce Assistant Professor School, a series of eight discussion sessions designed to provide information and support to junior faculty as they launch their independent research careers. The inaugural program will be held every Friday, September 15 through November 3 at 12:00 PM for one hour, in the Basic Science Building Room 202.

The primary goal of the Assistant Professor School is to share knowledge and information that will promote the development and advancement of faculty through a program tailored to the specific needs of junior faculty. This new research education initiative is designed for junior faculty at the rank of Assistant Professor to attend all sessions.
