Innovative transformational discoveries that will yield eventual improvements in patient care and overall health require a well-trained multidisciplinary workforce with access to high-quality professional development. SCTR’s Workforce Development program serves to create, centralize, and disseminate educational opportunities across the spectrum of clinical and translational research team members, including staff, students, trainees, faculty, and community partners. Together with research offices and colleges at MUSC, SCTR encourages career development through predoctoral and mentored training programs, educational courses, innovative learning opportunities, and informative workshops to support those who currently work in research and to grow South Carolina’s Clinical and Translational Research workforce.

ACRP eLearning Platform

Self-paced online learning modules on the processes, policies, and requirements for conducting clinical research.

Lunch & Learns

Monthly virtual seminars for research faculty and staff that address topical research issues over the lunch hour.

CCRT

An online, self-paced course that provides a comprehensive overview of conducting clinical research at MUSC.

RPN

A monthly, peer-led, collaborative offering virtual workshops on topics of relevance for clinical research professionals.

Clinical Trialist Training

Training on the basic elements of conducting a clinical trial for clinically-focused personnel, new site PIs or clinical trialists.

Community-Engaged Scholars Program (CES-P) participants design and complete a Community-Based Participatory Research project and training consists of didactic and hands-on sessions that academic and community partners attend together.

K to Independence

K to Independence is a monthly meeting on Teams, scheduled September through May from 12:00-1:00 p.m. and aimed at helping K-level scholars develop successful extramural grant applications.
