College of Medicine Clinician Scientist K12 Scholars Program
The College of Medicine Clinician Scientist K12 program provides mentored, protected research experiences to enhance the development and retention of early career physician scientist investigators. The goal of the COM K12 program is to increase clinical and translational research capacity through the training of junior faculty to help drive research independence. This funding opportunity is only open to junior faculty in the College of Medicine who hold an M.D., D.O., or M.D./Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent).
Scholars appointed to the COM K12 program receive:
- Didactic training to support their continued career progression.
- Mentored support to develop an extramural grant application.
- Professional development opportunities to support their transition to independent researchers.
- Annual research funding and salary support.
