Amendments can be submitted at any time, unless:
- they contain changes in section 4 (rDNA), then they MUST be received by the IBC at the same time that initial applications are due; or,
- they contain changes in section 5 (microbes), then it is STRONGLY ENCOURAGED that they be received by the IBC at the same time that initial applications are due.
Continuing Reviews are due annually by the deadline date stated in the e-mailed renewal/expiration notice. Associated amendments are due by 5 p.m. the same day that the Continuing Review is due, if sections 4, 5, and/or 6 are being changed. Other amendments maybe submitted by 5 p.m. the following Wednesday (i.e. one week later).
New tick@lab protocols can take up to 8 - 10 weeks to be approved. The IBC cannot provide an extension to cover any ongoing research under the current protocol. For 3YR renewals please submit your new protocol as soon as possible to avoid delays in your research.
Termination forms (DOC) should be submitted in a timely manner and must be submitted before an investigator leaves MUSC.
