The Office of Research Development identifies extramural funding opportunities, offers grantsmanship consultation, and helps MUSC faculty members prepare competitive proposals, with an overall emphasis on strategic research areas and institutional research infrastructure.
This office administers vital research assurance and compliance programs required by federal and state agencies, as well as institutional policies, for the safe and ethical conduct of preclinical and clinical research at MUSC.
This office has central responsibility and institutional signatory authority for proposal submission of sponsored research, scholarship, instruction and other related activities to support and facilitate sponsored research at MUSC.
MUSC Foundation for Research Development is a non-profit foundation technology transfer office that commercializes intellectual property (patents and copyrights) created by MUSC researchers. The Foundation also facilitates interaction between industry and MUSC.

The Office of Grants and Contracts Accounting (GCA) is primarily responsible for monitoring and reporting financial information related to the University's externally sponsored grants and contracts.
The University Compliance Program provides a proactive program to ensure full compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, laws and regulations while promoting ethical behavior in accordance with MUSC's core values as expressed in the MUSC Mission Statement and Code of Conduct.
The Research Shared Facilities offer new and diverse technologies,
instrumentation and services within the resources of single laboratories, to
the University's research community. Many of these facilities are managed
directly by investigators or departments. Some are maintained with support
and oversight from the Office of the Associate Provost for Research.
The Clinical and Translational Program and the GCRC provide support for
research investigators and staff, with online access to clinical and
translational research Services and hands on support for regulatory
affairs, grant submission, and patient recruitment.
The University Research Committee (Bridge and Resident Research), supported through the Office of the Associate Provost for Research, is available to assist R01-funded investigators with interim bridge funding and to provide support for resident research.
