Comparative effectiveness web conference for clinical pharmacists will air Sept. 9

 

The Effective Health Care Program of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) and the American Pharmacists Association are co-sponsoring a free web conference for clinical pharmacists on Wednesday, September 9th from 2–3 PM, EDT. The conference will provide an overview of comparative effectiveness research and its relevance to pharmacists and pharmacy-based decision-makers.  Highlights of a recent article, "Comparative Effectiveness Research: Relevance and Applications to Pharmacy," will be presented by authors Glen Schumock, PharmD, MBA, Director and Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice and Simon Pickard, PhD, Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice from University of Illinois at Chicago.  

In addition, AHRQ’s Scott Smith, RPh, MSPH, PhD, Director of the Pharmaceutical Outcomes Research programs will provide an overview of AHRQ’s comparative effectiveness program, including the program’s scientific evidence-based resources, and Carmen Kelly, PharmD, RPh, Pharmacist Officer, will serve as moderator for the event.  Continuing Pharmacy Education credits will be offered to pharmacists who participate in the Web conference.
