The IRB is now accepting requests for a determination as "Not Human Research." Available under limited conditions, this determination involves minimal documentation. Examples of "Not Human Research" maybe found at: research.musc.edu/ori/irb/nhr.htm.

Information found at the HHS link below can help you determine if your study should be submitted as "Not Human Research," or for Exempt, Expedited or Full Board review. See Decision Charts at: www.hhs.gov/ohrp/humansubjects/guidance/decisioncharts.htm.

Go to the IRB Forms page at research.musc.edu/ori/irb/forms.htm to request a determination as "Not Human Research".
