United Health Foundation publishes State of Nation report

The United Health Foundation recently published the 15th annual America’s Health: State Health Rankings. According to the report, America’s health has improved by 17.5% in the last 15 years. Minnesota, New Hampshire, and Vermont are ranked the healthiest states, and Tennessee, Mississippi, and Louisiana are the least healthy states.

Risk factors examined in the report include smoking prevalence, infectious disease, per capita public health spending, and lack of health insurance. Outcomes assessed include cardiovascular deaths, infant mortality, premature deaths, limited activity days, and cancer deaths.
