The National Cancer Institute (NCI), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the American Cancer Society (ACS), with the support and help of various collaborating national agencies, will launch a national comprehensive cancer control Web site in January 2003. The Plan, Link, Act Network (PLANET) Web site will be an invaluable resource where the general public can interact with the various components of national cancer control efforts. It will link national cancer control data, information, statistics, surveillance, delivery systems and assessment tools. PLANET involves three major components: state profiles of cancer statistics, guides to community cancer preventive services and a product database. PLANET is designed to be easy to use, with simple key word search features and links to important relevant sites. Source: The Blue Sheet, September 11, 2002
