NIDA has launched a new journal: "Science and Practice Perspectives"

The National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health launched its new journal, "Science and Practice Perspectives," in July 2002. This biannual, peer-reviewed publication promotes what the institute describes as "a practical, creative dialogue" between researchers and treatment providers whose common goal is to reduce the toll of drug abuse.
Regular features will include reviews of critical topics in the science of prevention and treatment, service providers' perspectives on what works in diverse treatment settings and priorities for future research, inter-disciplinary roundtable discussions and examples of successful research-practice collaborations.

NIDA expects the "exchange of information, observations and insights" fostered by the new publication "to help clinicians maximize their programs and treatment outcomes, while helping researchers construct new hypotheses and design studies relevant to the needs of providers and patients."
