Komen Foundation will host national meetings on breast cancer

The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation will host two national meetings on overlapping dates this fall in Washington, DC. The Komen Foundation’s fifth annual conference, Reaching for the Cure® . . . Innovations in Quality Care, showcases breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment projects supported by the Foundation’s grant programs. Dates are September 30 – October 2, 2001, at the Grant Hyatt in Washington, DC.

Immediately prior to the annual conference, the Komen Foundation will host Closing the Gap – Eradicating Breast Cancer in the African American Community, September 29 – 30, also at the Grant Hyatt Hotel. This pre-conference symposium will provide a unique opportunity to hear about and discuss key issues concerning African American women and breast cancer. This is the first year the Foundation has presented such a pre-conference event.
