Call for pre-proposals for internal selection of candidates for Searle and Pew Scholars Programs

The Office of Research Development has issued two separate Calls for Pre-proposals designed to designated a single MUSC candidate for each of two highly competitive, prestigious award programs in basic and translational laboratory-based biomedical research. 

Prospective candidates for the Searle Scholars 2009 competition should send an email to Peggy Schachte (schachte@musc.edu) immediately, indicating nominee's name, degree, current position and date of first appointment as assistant professor at any institution, major research interests and preliminary proposal title. The pre-proposal is due Thursday, August 14 in the Office of Research Development. Eligible applicants must have begun their first appt at the assistant professor level on or after July 1, 2007.  Citizenship is not a requirement.  The Searle Scholars Program web site is: http://www.searlescholars.net

Prospective candidates for the Pew Scholars 2009 competition should send an email to Peggy Schachte no later than Aug.15, indicating nominee's name, degree, current position and date of first appointment as assistant professor at any institution, major research interests and preliminary proposal title.  The pre-proposal is dur in the Office of Research Development by Thursday, September 4.  Eligible applicants must have begun their first appt at asst prof level (regardless of tenure track) on or after July 1, 2006.  Citizenship is not a requirement; applicants have full-time faculty appointment.
