Bioengineering group hosts Federal Symposium, Sept 10-11, in Washington, DC

The American Institute of Medical and Biomedical Engineering (AIMBE) is conducting a 2nd Annual Federal Symposium on September 10-11 in Washington, DC.  Details about the meeting and program are available at http://www.aimbe.org/fedsymposium

On September 10th, speakers from key Federal agencies (NSF, NIH, DOE) and budget offices associated with biomedical research and development will speak on the status and prospects for their research budgets.  On the 11th, groups will visit key congressmen to discuss the need for increased biomedical R&D funding.

Individuals interested in attending or learning more about this event may contact Dr. Richard Swaja at 792-0430 or swajar@musc.edu.  The registration fee is modest ($35). The 2006 event was very informative and productive. The symposium is an excellent learning opportunity for students, for whom the registration fee is waived.  Interested students should also contact Dr. Swaja for details.
