"Health by Design" Symposium Will Be Held in Charleston This September

The Sustainable Universities Initiative of South Carolina is sponsoring a symposium and workshop dedicated to the conscious creation of healthy environments. This symposium is offered on September 24 and 25 in conjunction with the annual meeting of the Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture (CELA) and the South Carolina chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) in Charleston.

Two days have been set aside to discuss and develop the design principles in response to the three major movements: the Integrated Medical Model (and its corollaries, Patient-Centered Care, Holistic Medicine, and Mind-Body Healing); the Healthy Communities Initiative; and the Green Architecture Movement and LEEDS.
