AcademyHealth calls for nominations for health services research award

AcademyHealth, a membership organization for health services researchers, policy analysts, and practitioners, is soliciting nominations for its Health Services Research (HRS) Impact Award, which recognizes health services research that has made a positive impact on health policy or practice. Selection criteria include quality and impact of research as well as the effectiveness of research dissemination and translation approach. The deadline for nominations is July 28.

The lead researcher of the winning project will receive $2,000, and the research will be disseminated widely as part of AcademyHealth's ongoing efforts to promote the field of health services research. The award will be announced at the National Health Policy Conference in February 2007. Nominated research may be published or unpublished, a single study or a body of work, and/or the work of an individual or a team. The time frame for when the research was conducted is open, but the impact should have occurred recently. Nominators and nominees are not required to be AcademyHealth members. Self- nominations will be accepted. For more information on the award, visit the RFP page on the AcademyHealth web site.
