In 2000, the life expectancy of a woman reached a new record (79.5 years). The average life expectancy of a black woman, however, is five years shorter than that of a white woman, according to a new report from the Department of Health and Human Services. "Women's Health USA 2002. This statistical report on the health status of American women shows the disproportionate impact that impact health conditions such as osteoporosis, asthma, and diabetes have on women.
