VA names new research chief

VA names new research chief

Joel Kupersmith, MD, was named chief research and development officer for the Department of Veterans Affairs, effective May 31. Dr. Kupersmith is a former dean of the medical school and vice president for clinical affairs at Texas Tech University, where he also served as chief executive officer of the faculty practice. He is currently a scholar-in-residence at the Association of American Medical Colleges and the Institute of Medicine in Washington, DC.
