ORI adds "Point for Discussion" to Web home page

The federal Office of Research Integrity (ORI) has added a new feature called “Points for Discussion”. The feature presents notable quotes, published in journals, reports and other documents produced by scientific organizations, associations, and government agencies, that comment on the state of the research enterprise and may be used to stimulate discussion about research integrity, research misconduct and responsible conduct of research (RCR) during lab meetings, RCR workshops, brown bag seminars, etc. A new Point for Discussion is presented monthly. The first Point for Discussion concerns Data Recording.

Individuals interested in staying abreast of news and events regarding responsible conduct of research can subscribe to the ORI electronic newsletter by going to with Web site (ori.hhs.gov/) and following instructions for the RCR-INRCR-INSTRUCTION listserv.
