Health services
research award nominations are due by July 29
AcademyHealth, a non-partisan health research and policy organization,
recently issued a call for nominations of health services research
for the HSR Impact Award. Research that has made a positive impact
on health policy and/or practice is the target.
One or two winners will be selected. Each winner will receive $2,000.
In addition, AcademyHealth will widely disseminate the winning impacts
as part of ongoing efforts to promote the field of health services
research and communicate its value for healthcare decision-making.
The awards will be announced at the 2006 National Health Policy Conference
on February 6-7. The winners will receive complimentary registration,
lodging, and travel to and from the conference.
Nominated research may be published or unpublished, a single study or a body
of work, and/or the work of an individual or a team. The time frame for when
the research was conducted is open, but the impact should have occurred recently.
Nominators and nominees are not required to be AcademyHealth members. Self-nominations
will be accepted. For more information, go to www.academyhealth.org/awards/hsrimpacts.htm
