AAHRPP accredits research institutions, state, federal organizations The Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs (AAHRPP) recently awarded accreditation to 15 institutions, including a school of medicine, several veterans medical centers, a state health department, and a federal research laboratory. Full accreditation was awarded to: Florida Department of Health; Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center; Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans' Hospital; James J. Peters Veterans Affairs Medical Center; New Mexico VA Health Care System; New York University School of Medicine; Pacific Northwest National Laboratory; Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center; University of Michigan, Ann Arbor; VA Illiana Health Care System; VA Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System; and Veterans Affairs San Diego Healthcare System. Qualified accreditation was awarded to Louis Stokes Cleveland Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center; Syracuse University; and University of Missouri-Columbia. Accreditation is valid for three years. The Medical University of South Carolina is preparing to submit an application for AAHRPP accreditation.
