Local program offers entrepreneurship skills for researchers

Do you have an interest starting your own company around your technology? Do you already have your own company? Have you thought about writing an SBIR/STTR grant? Do you have a general curiosity about entrepreneurship? If so, the following information will interest you.

The FastTrac® Entrepreneurial Program of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation will be offer its TechVenture™ program in Charleston during April. TechVenture is an interactive program for actual or aspiring entrepreneurs, designed and facilitated by entrepreneurs. It is a 10-week program with sessions once a week on Tuesdays, from April 24 - June 26, at the College of Charleston, from 6 – 9 PM.

FastTrac TechVenture offers training in the tools you need to advance your technology venture to the next stage of business, whether that is seeking your last round of financing before going public, or moving beyond the start-up stage. The program encourages technology entrepreneurs to determine the economic feasibility of their business concept, evaluate the feasibility of the technology, design a business model that matches a personal vision, and create a business plan to communicate the opportunity to investors.

As a result of state sponsorship, the registration fee has been discounted. For more information, please visit http://www.fasttracsc.org/techventure.php. To determine the fee and register to attend, please contact Vicky Waller, Phone: 843.224.8197, Email: vwaller@charlestonchamber.org.
