New Academy Of Clinical Research Professionals unifies two associations

Two associations dedicated to education for clinical research professionals will join to become the Academy of Clinical Research Professionals, the world’s largest organization of its kind. The Association of Clinical Research Professionals and the American Academy of Pharmaceutical Physicians will merge to create an integrated global approach to the protection of human subjects and maintenance of high ethical standards. Thomas Adams, president and CEO of the Association of Clinical Research Professionals, will head the new academy.

The two organizations would hold individual annual meetings in the first year. Subsequently, the new organization will embark on a unified meeting, possibly with various tracks. The groups are expected to merge officially on July 1, 2005.
