AHRQ releases
state-specific data on healthcare quality performance
The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) recently released
data on healthcare quality in each of the nation's 50 states and
the District of Columbia. The data derive from AHRQ's 2004 "National
Healthcare Quality Report," which is a Congressionally mandated
report. The data are designed to help state health officials more
easily identify areas where they are doing well and those where quality
improvement is necessary. They also allow state-by-state comparison
of care based on approximately 100 measures of quality.
