Computing resources are hot topic for improvement and statewide collaboration As part of an ongoing effort to enhance computing resources at MUSC, Dr. Frank Clark, MUSC Chief Information Officer (CIO), has invited Dr. Jim Bottum, Clemson University CIO, to campus on Monday, February 12th. Dr. Bottum will discuss possible interinstitutional collaborations to expand the capabilities and performance range of computing resources and information technology available to MUSC faculty and trainees. Dr. Bottum is an expert in high performance computing with extensive experience in academic and scientific research areas. He will be accompanied by Jim Pepin, Clemson Chief Technology Officer, John Minor, Research Partnership and Support Director, and Sebastien Goasguen, Assistant Professor in the Clemson University School of Computing. The presentation will occur in the Institute of Psychiatry Auditorium on February 12th from 10 AM to 12 PM. Dr. Bottum will give an overview of the Clemson Computing Initiative followed by a question-and-answer session. In addition, MUSC personnel will present the results of the recent MUSC Computer Needs Faculty Survey.
